“Ní neart go cur le chéile”

This is a principle we hold dear in Kill NS and guides us in all we do in terms of being an active school. Activity, like all learning, does not stop at the school gate. We have linked up with various local clubs to encourage the children to live an active lifestyle while being part of a community. To date we have linked up with local GAA clubs, St Mary’s and St Anne’s, and are beginning a partnership with KCK Athletic Club. The children from each class will get a chance for a taster session with these clubs.

As we continue on our Active School journey we will invite many more clubs/activities into our school to give the children a wide variety of experiences – dance, skipping, soccer etc. taster sessions.

We also register for “European School Sports Day” every year, this year it was 29th September 2023. During the day we encourage all classes to be active in anyway, these are just some of the activities we did this year –

  • Fun games
  • Extra P.E.
  • Active Maths
  • Use of the walkway
